On 1 November 2024, SHOWCASE celebrated its fourth anniversary, marking another year of fostering synergies between agriculture, biodiversity and ecosystem services to support farmers in enhancing native biodiversity, bridging the gap between agricultural incentives and biodiversity management practices to contribute to Europe’s goal of sustainable agricultural production.
Highlights from the past year include:

Partners attending numerous conferences to present project results and outputs, such as 5th Ecosystem Services Partnership, Congress of Hungarian Ecologists, AgriKultur Festival, LANDSCAPE, 9th Student Conference on Conservation Science, 7th European Congress on Conservation Biology and more!

Releasing a press release on InsectsCount, which was featured by CORDIS;

Publishing a video on University of Reading’s AgroEcoList - a reporting checklist for agricultural research;

Disseminating biodiversity strategies to policymakers and organisations;

A SHOWCASE informational video on how to help the bees;

Releasing InsectsCount - an insect counting progressive web application;

Organising the fourth workshop for Early Career Researchers;

Filming a 2023 Highlights video;

Holding the third Annual General Meeting in Budapest, Hungary where project partners met to share results and discuss effective dissemination;

Sending a bi-annual newsletter: one in May 2024 and one in October 2024;

Holding the external EC review meeting in early 2024, which aimed to report and assess SHOWCASE’s achievements between May 2022 and October 2023. The meeting was a success and acknowledged the dedication and efforts of all SHOWCASE partners, while also advising to engage with a larger audience.
