The latest edition of Safeguard's newsletter is out, featuring SHOWCASE among its highlights! This edition covers key project achievements, relevant outputs and upcoming events.
SHOWCASE contributed with a recent study assessing how different farmland habitats—crop fields, road verges, and wildflower fields (WFFs)—support functional groups like pollinators and predators. Data was collected over a year, with vegetation surveyed at peak flowering and arthropods sampled twice to capture seasonal variations. While the study's short duration presents some limitations, the clear differences observed between habitats offer valuable ecological insights.
This research aligns closely with Safeguard’s mission. As an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project, Safeguard brings together leading researchers, NGOs, industry and policy experts to strengthen Europe’s efforts to reverse wild pollinator declines.
